Sveiki, gerbiamieji Queen fanai.

Baigėsi jau antrasis balsavimo turas, renkant geriausią studijinį Queen albumą. Šįkart sulaukėme mažiau Jūsų balsų (iš viso 39, per pirmą etapą - net 48), tačiau jų pakako išaiškinti 2 albumus, keliaujančius į finalinį balsavimo etapą. Jais tapo jau po F. Merkurio mirties - 95 metais - išleistas darbas "Made in Heaven" (12 balsų), bei 86 m. albumas - A Kind of magic (10 balsų). Kiek netikėtai paskutinėmis dienomis tarp lyderių pabandė įsiterpti "Hot Space" (82 m.), spėjęs surinkti 8 Jūsų balsus. 4 vietą užėmė Queen II (74 m., 5 balsai), o paskutinis netikėtai liko A Day at the Races, sulaukęs tik 4 Jūsų balsų.

Paskutiniajame etape varžysis šie likę Queen albumai: Sheer Heart attack, Jazz, Flash Gordon, The Works ir Innuendo. Balsavimas tęsis iki 2010-12-01 imtinai.

Sheer Heart Attack - tai trečiasis grupės albumas pasirodęs dar 1974 m. vėlyvą rudenį ir pagaliau išties tapęs dideliu hitu ne tik gimtojoje D. Britanijoje, bet ir JAV. Albumas yra labai energingas ir įvairus, galbūt labiausiai atitinkantis tuo metu populiarią Britanijoje glam roko madą. Žymus muzikos žurnalas Q šį albumą įvertino kaip privalomą turėti iš Queen diskografijos.

Po mažiau sėkmingo Hot Space '82 albumo bei lydėjusio fanų nusivylimo, Queen 83 metų pirmoje pusėje nutarė pailsėti, ne tik nuo įrašų, bet ir koncertų, ir ši pertraukavisiškai pasiteisino, nes visos subrandintos kūrybinės idėjos buvo realizuotos 84 m. pradžioje išleistuose Darbuose - The Works. Nors šiame albume jau nebebuvo tokio kardinalaus muzikinio stiliaus pokyčių, kita vertus, grupė jau nebegrįžo prie 70-ųjų gryno roko skambesio, visgi 9-ojo dešimtmečio vėjai veikė ir Queen, prie kurių ji kuo puikiausiai prisitaikė. Albumas padovanojo dvi vienas vienas žinomiausių ir mėgiamiausių Queen dainų, tai Radio Ga Ga ir I want to break free. Pirmosios dainos video klipui buvo panaudoti fragmentai iš pirmojo fantastinio filmo "Metropolis", kurio herojais klipe tapo ir Queen nariai. Antros dainos klipui nufilmuoti grupės nariai, pamėgdžiodami vieno tuometinio serialo Britanijoje herojas, persirengė moterimis, o MTV JAV uždraudė jo demonstraciją. Sakoma, kad I want to break free galutinai nužudė grupės populiarumą JAV. Nepaisant to, grupės laukė nauji iššūkiai, t.y. Rio festivalis 85-ųjų m. sausio mėn., kada į du Queen koncertus sugužėjo po 250 000 žmonių minia, o liepos mėnesį laukė Live Aid labdaros koncertas, kuriame Queen tiesiogiai ir nedviprasmiškai įrodė esanti geriausia grupė pasaulyje.

1. Innuendo was the first of two albums released in 1991, the second was The Greatest Hits II.
2. The album was promoted in the USA with a press launch on board the Queen Mary.

Innuendo - tai paskutinis Queen albumas, įrašytas gyvam F. Merkuriui esant. Albumas buvo išleistas įvairiausių gandų dėl F. Merkurio sveikatos būklės sūkuryje, tačiau net didžiausi pesimistai dar nesuprato tos UŽUOMINOS (Innuendo), užšifruotos albume - kad Fredis išties jau sparčiai geso ir liko jau visai nedaug... Po albumo išleidimo, dauguma gerbėjų džiaugėsi, kad Queen tarsi sugrįžo prie savo 70-ųjų skambesio, tačiau albumas sulaukė įvairių kritikų vertinimų, kurie pažymėjo, kad albume vystomos nuvalkiotos temos, kaip gyvenimo prasmė, tikslai, prisiminimai apie jaunystę, moralė, meilė ir pan. Tačiau visi tie kritikai tarsi iš naujo praregėjo po F. Merkurio mirties ir jie suprato, kad Innuendo - tai F. Merkurio apdainuotas kūrybinis palikimas, asmeniniai išgyvenimai kovoje su liga, odė gyvenimui ir atsisveikinimas su gerbėjais, grupės nariais, galų gale - savo numylėtomis katėmis... tik po F. Merkurio mirties visi peprato, koks asmeniškas šis albumas buvo grupei visos tragedijos, didžiulės netekties akivaizdoje... Išties Innuendo nusipelno tik pačių geriausių vertinimų. Galima teigti, kad šis albumas kone pats brandžiausias darbas, esant grupei pačiame kūrybiniame pakilime, kurį drastiškai nutraukė negailestinga F. Merkurio mirtis... The show must go on - ir šou tikrai tęsiasi!
